Stille / Silence

Zwischen Konferenz, Messe, erhöhter Arbeitszeit wegen besager Messe, plötzlicher Domain- und damit Emailadressenänderung, sage und schreibe einem Konzert und meinen restlichen Hobbies und täglichen Verpflichtungen sah es in letzter Zeit eher schlecht aus mit Bloggen - oder Bilder editieren. Da war irgendwie keine Zeit mehr übrig, geschweige denn Energie... Weil viel geschlafen habe ich der letzten Zeit auch nicht gerade.

In between conference, exhibition, increased work load (and time) due to said exhibition, sudden change of a domain and therefor also email address, one whole concert and my other hobbies and daily duties I haven't had much time for blogging lately - or even just editing pictures. There simply wasn't any time left, let alone energy... I haven't had much sleep in the last weeks either.

Ich habe fast alles für mein letztes Wollfeepaket zusammen. Ein Teil wird nachgereicht werden und den Rest werde ich wohl erst am Freitag losschicken können, da ich weder Dienstag noch Mittwoch zu der Zeit wo irgendein Paketdienst Pakete annimmt in der Nähe eines solchen sein werde. Und Donnerstag ist ja der 1. Mai und damit Feiertag... Aber Freitag ist ja auch noch recht früh und ich hoffe meine Wollprinzessin wird's mir verzeihen können und sich trotzdem über das Paket freuen.

I have almost everything I need for my last wool fairy surprise package. One piece will be sent to my swap partner later and the rest will be sent off on Friday. It should be sent until Wednesday but since I won't be in the vicinity of package delivery service any time at all on either Tuesday or Wednesday, I just won't be able to make it any earlier. Thursday is May 1st and therefor a holiday so I can't sent it off then either... But Friday is still almost on time and I hope my wool princess will be able to forgive me and be happy about the package anyway.

Ich habe es inzwischen bis Hinweis 9 vom Spring Shawl Surprise geschafft. Bis Juni sollte ich das Ding hoffentlich fertig kriegen. Ich hab' am Freitag endlich mal die Big Basin socken aus der Six Sox KAL Gruppe angestrickt - mit der schönen ONline Wolle, die ich im letzten Paket meiner Wollfee erhalten hatte. Der erste Socken ist inzwischen auch schon fertig und der zweite ist schon ein paar Reihen weit auf den Nadeln. Diese Socken waren überraschen einfach zu stricken. Nachdem ich das Bild von denen gesehen hatte, hatte ich sie wirklich für viel schwieriger gehalten. Ich werde Bilder von den Socken posten, wenn ich dazu komme welche zu machen. ;) Ich kann aber immerhin endlich ein Bild von den fertigen Tausendschön Elfenspiegel Monkeys zeigen (ein weiteres gibt's bei mir auf Ravelry zu sehen).

I have managed to get to clue 9 from the Spring Shawl Surprise by now. I should be able to finish it until June 1st - I hope. Last Friday I finally cast on the Big Basin socks from the Six Sox KAL group on Yahoo. I used the pretty ONline yarn I got with my last package sent to me by my wool fairy. The first sock is already finished and second is on the needles and already a couple of rows long. These socks were surprisingly easy to knit. After looking at the pictures I had thought them to be a lot more difficult. I'm going to post pictures of the socks, once I've gotten around to making some. ;) I can however finally show a picture of the finished Tausendschön Elfenspiegel Monkeys (there is another up on Ravelry in my projects).

Inzwischen hatte ich auch so einige Zuwächse für meinen Stash... Unter anderem das Frühlingsabo von Handgefärbt (und in ein paar Tagen werde ich auch das Sommerabo bestellen) und ein paar Stränge von Sheepaints. Außerdem habe ich bei Drachenwolle bestellt (danke Heike ;) ), das Päckchen hat allerdings nur auf Irrwegen zu mir geschafft. Ich finde es toll wenn Leute Päckchen für mich annehmen, der Paketbote KEINE Karte bei mir hinterläßt und besagt Leute sich erst nach über einer Woche bei meinen Schwiegereltern melden, anstatt mal eben zwei Schritte zu laufen und bei mir zu klingeln um zu schauen, ob ich denn da bin... Aber egal. Die Christiane, der der Shop gehört, ist eine ganz liebe, die wirklich noch jeden Kunden einzeln betreut. Und noch dazu ist die Wolle traumhaft schön. Kann ich nur empfehlen. :) Bilder von den ganzen Strängen werden demnächst bei mir in meinem Ravelry Stash zu sehen sein.

I have received some additions for my stash in the last weeks... Among others there was the spring subscription from Handgefärbt (and in a few days I'm going to order the summer subscription) and a couple of hanks from Sheepaints. Also, I've ordered some hanks from Drachenwolle (thank you, Heike ;) ). With some delays/detours the package finally managed to reach me. I just love it when people accept packages for me, the delivery guy does NOT leave a card telling me where it is and said people talk to my parents-in-law after more than a week about the package instead of walking to steps and ringing my door bell to see if I'm actually home... Anyway, Christiane, whose shop Drachenwolle is, is a wonderful and sweet person, who still takes care to attend to every customer personally. And the yarn is just amazingly beautiful. I can recommend her shop wholeheartedly. :) Pictures of the hanks will up and visible in my Ravelry Stash in a little while.

Ich hatte ja auch noch weitere Bilder von meiner Hochzeit versprochen. Dummerweise haben wir sie nicht in digitaler Form vom Fotostudio bekommen, so müssen wir sie jetzt alle mühsam einscannen. Wir haben nicht gerade den schnellsten Scanner und da wir sie auch noch in einer sehr hohen Auflösung einscannen (damit sie auch noch gut aussehen) dauert es mal eben in etwa eine halbe Stunde pro Bild... Die ersten 8 Bilder haben wir immerhin aber schon fertig und mehr werden am Donnerstag folgen. Hier aber trotzdem schonmal die ersten 8. Wie immer werden sie größer wenn ihr drauf klickt.

I had promised more pictures from my wedding. However the studio didn't send them to us in digital form, so we have to painstakingly scan them all in ourselves. We don't really have the fastest scanner under the sun and since we are scanning the pictures with a high resolution (so they'll look good) it takes us around half an hour per picture... At least we have the first 8 already done and more will follow on Thursday. So here you'll get to see the first 8 of those pictures. As usual you can get a bigger version of those pictures by clicking on them.

Nicht viel zu erzählen / Not much to tell

Ich kam in der letzten Zeit leider nicht dazu hier zu posten, wie ich es eigentlich vor hatte. Es gab einfach immer so viel zu tun und eigentlich nicht viel zu erzählen.

Recently I haven't been able to post here as I had intended to. I just had too much to do and not enough to tell.

Letzte Woche Montag ist mein erstes Abo von Tausendschön eingetroffen. Perlenfischer, heißt es. Und ich hatte es auch gleich fotografiert, bin aber noch nicht dazu gekommen, die Bilder auch zu bearbeiten. Vielleicht schaffe ich es am Wochenende. Dann werde ich sie auch posten. Perlenfischer ist auf jeden Fall wunderschön und ich habe auch schon die eine oder andere Idee, was ich daraus stricken könnte. :)

Monday before last my first installment of my Tausendschön subscription arrived. It is called Perlenfischer - pearl-fischer. I had taken photos right away, however I have not yet had the time to edit them. Maybe I'll get around to it on the weekend. If so then I'll be posting them then. Pearl-fisher is a very beautiful yarn and I already have a couple of ideas for what I could knit out of it.

Ich habe in dieser Woche auch schon ein paar Dinge für das erste Paket an meine Wollprinzessin besorgt, verrate aber nicht um was es sich handelt. ;) Ich möchte noch ein oder zwei andere Dinge besorgen, die mit ins Paket können und dann wenn ich alles zusammen habe auch gleich losschicken. Ich freue mich ja total über das Paket was ich zusammenstelle. Das ist wie Weihnachten nur ohne den ganzen Stress und das Kopfzerbrechen... Irgendwie ist es viel leichter für meine Wollprinzessin etwas zu besorgen als für meine Familie oder die meines fast-Mannes.

I have already gathered a few things for the package to my yarn princess (Wollprinzessin) but I won't tell you what it is. ;) I still have one or two things that I'd like to get and put into this first package but once I have them I'll send it right off. I'm really happy about this package-making process. It's like christmas just without the stress and the lack of ideas... Somehow it's a lot easier to figure out what to get for my yarn princess than it is when it comes to my family or the family of my almost-husband.

Mein Korppi-Tuch ist jetzt fast fertig. Ich arbeite gerade nur noch den unteren Rand und bin mit dem auch schon halb durch. Ich schätze bis Mitte nächster Woche wird es fertig gestrickt sein und muß dann nur noch geblockt werden. Ich liebe das Tuch über alles, es sieht einfach wahnsinnig schön aus - aber mann, ist da viel Arbeit drin! :D

My Korppi-Shawl is almost done. I'm currently working on the edging and am already about half-way through with that. I would say that I'll be done with the knitting by the mid of next week and it'll only have to be blocked then. I love this shawl so much and it's soooo beautiful - but boy, it's a whole lot of work! :D

Diese Woche habe ich außerdem schon wieder Wolle gekauft. Als würde ich noch mehr Sockenwolle wirklich brauchen... Aber ich konnte nicht widerstehen. Dienstage sind eh meine schwachen Tage, weil ich da von 6Uhr morgens bis 19:30-20:00Uhr unterwegs bin und ausgerechnet da, hab ich natürlich am abend die Info erhalten das handgefaerbt.com neue Wolle im Shop hat... Ich bin da also auf die Site gegangen, hab sie gesehen und bin fast ausgerastet... Zum einen war sie in einem schönen Fantasy-Theme gehalten und da ich Fantasy sehr mag, war es da eh schon fast um mich geschehen. Zum anderen waren die Farben einfach nur irre... So was von schön. Ich habe also ein bißchen was bestellt. Na ja, vielleicht auch ein bißchen mehr als ein bißchen... Ich werde Bilder posten, wenn die Wolle hier ist.

This week I also ordered some more yarn. As if I needed any more sock yarn... But I just couldn't resist. Tuesdays are my weak days anyway, since I am out of the house from 6am until 7:30-8pm and once I get home I'm just dead - and of course it had to be that day that I got the information that handgefaerbt.com had new yarn in stock. So I went to that site, saw the yarn and went a little nuts... They had a fantasy theme for the yarn and I love fantasy, so I was basically already done for. Also, the colors were just crazily, unbelievably beautiful. So, I ended up ordering some. Actually, it was definately more than "some"... I'll be posting pictures, once the yarn is here.
